Where’s your favourite place to visit in India?

Bar Palladio in Jaipur. Conceived by Dutch designer Marie-Anne Oudejans as a maharaja’s palace from the 1960s, it is a wonderland of colour. Blue and white are my favourite, so I am in heaven here. I love discovering new parts of India, it’s such a diverse country, but I return to this place again and again. Make sure you have one of their martinis when you visit!

What is your favourite shopping spot in Delhi?

Delhi is one of my favourite shopping destinations, and there are so many great spots that I head to the markets almost as soon as the plane has landed.

My first stop is always Khan Market as it is only 10 minutes from the friends I always stay with. Good Earth sells the most beautiful dinnerware, with each collection designed around an Indian story. The Serai collection is on my wish list – it depicts the tale of Emperor Jehangir, who crossed the snowy passes of Pir Panjal on elephants to escape the heat of the city and spend the summer months in Kashmir.

Anokhi is the go-to place for cotton tablecloths and napkins, as well as quilts, in fabulous block-print designs and colours. It’s really good value.

Shaw Brothers is well worth a visit for authentic shawls – the selection they have is mind-blowing.

What Indian-inspired dish do you love to cook at home?

My all-time favourite is Meera Sodha’s delicious Sticky Mango Paneer Skewers. The ingredients are easy to find, and it’s a quick and simple dish to put together.

What’s your go-to outfit formula for effortless everyday dressing?

Where possible, I try to lay out my outfit for the next day the night before – it saves so much time in the morning with indecisions. A dress is definitely my go-to, they are versatile and can be worn all day, from the office to a lunch to evening drinks and dinner.

Who are your ICONS?

Aerin Lauder, for her style and passion. Both her home and wardrobe are always an inspiration – from laying a table for a weekend lunch to dressing up for summer cocktails. Her passion for design shines through in all of her projects, from the interiors of her house in the Hamptons to the packaging of her scents.

Also, Michelle Obama was the most extraordinary First Lady. Her fearless intellect and passionate support of women and her strong, outspoken presence make her a huge inspiration to me and to millions of other women and girls around the world. I am in awe of her courage and grace.
